Sundar Pichai, sometimes known as Sundar Pichai Sundararajan, is an Indian-born American executive who served as the CEO of Google, Inc. (2015–) and its parent firm, Alphabet Inc. (2019–). He was born in Madras [now Chennai], Tamil Nadu, India, on June 10, 1972.
Pichai slept in the family room of the compact family house as a child in Madras, but his father, an electrical engineer with the British multinational GEC, ensured that the boys received an excellent education. Pichai showed an early interest in technology as well as an exceptional memory, particularly for phone numbers. He was offered a scholarship to study at Stanford University after obtaining a degree in metallurgy (B.Tech., 1993) and a silver medal at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (M.S. in engineering and materials science, 1995). He stayed in the United States after that, briefly working for Applied Materials (a semiconductor materials supplier) before getting an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 2002.

Pichai Sundararajan was born on July 12, 1972, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. `Regunatha Pichai, his father, worked as an electronic engineer for the British consortium GEC and handled an electrical component factory. His mother worked as a stenographer before having children, and he only had one brother.
Pichai was a talented student who was raised in a middle-class family. At Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, he excelled academically and was accepted into the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, one of India's most prominent engineering institutes. He received his B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before winning a scholarship to Stanford University to learn materials science and semiconductor physics, where he eventually earned his M.S.
He eventually progressed through the ranks of Google, taking over the administration of other Google products such as Gmail and Google Docs.
